Jeffrey's Story
Jeffrey’s Story - Hidden in Plain Sight
Update: Epstein's lawyers in 2011:
Acosta, in 2011, would explain that he was unduly pressured by Epstein’s heavy-hitting lawyers—Lefkowitz, Harvard professor Alan Dershowitz, Jack Goldberger, Roy Black, former U.S. Attorney Guy Lewis, Gerald Lefcourt, and Kenneth Starr, the former Whitewater special prosecutor who investigated Bill Clinton’s sexual liaisons with Monica Lewinsky.
Jeffrey Edward Epstein (born January 20, 1953) is an American registered sex offender and financier.[1][2] Epstein began his career in finance at the investment bank , before forming his own firm, J. Epstein & Co.
Epstein eventually pled guilty and was convicted in a Florida state court in 2008 of soliciting a prostitute and of soliciting a 17-year-old girl for prostitution, for which he served 13 months in "custody with work release" as part of a plea deal where federal officials had identified 36 victims.[3][4] The plea deal was made by Alexander Acosta, who was then the United States Attorney for the Southern District of Florida, who agreed to grant immunity from all federal criminal charges to Epstein.
Epstein was born in 1953 in Brooklyn, New York to Jewish parents[7][8] Pauline (nee Stolofsky, 1918–2004)[9] and Seymour G. Epstein (1916–1991). Epstein's parents were married in 1952, shortly before his birth.
Banking After teaching at Dalton School, Epstein started work as an options trader at Bear Stearns in 1976,[15] where he worked in the special products division, advising high-net-worth clients on tax strategies.[15] Proving successful in his financial career, Epstein became a limited partner at Bear Stearns in 1980. He later left Bear Stearns in 1981. See this on the Bear Stearns collapse
Financial Consulting In August 1981, Epstein founded his own consulting firm, Intercontinental Assets Group Inc. (I.A.G.),[21] which assisted clients in recovering stolen money from fraudulent brokers and lawyers.[14] Epstein described his work at this time as being a high-level bounty hunter. He told friends that he worked sometimes as a consultant for governments or for very rich people to recover embezzled funds, while at other times he worked for clients that had embezzled funds.[22][14] During this time period, Epstein met Steven Hoffenberg in London. They had been introduced through Douglas Leese, a defense contractor, and John Mitchell, the former US Attorney General.[14]
Co-conspirator
Steven Hoffenberg is the former chairman of Towers Financial Corporation, a bill collection agency, that he used in a Ponzi scheme (more clearly described as a Chutzpah Hustle). The firm collapsed in 1993, and in 1995 Hoffenberg pleaded guilty to bilking investors out of $475 million. In 1997 Judge Robert W. Sweet sentenced him to 20 years in prison, plus a $1 million fine and $463 million in restitution (per the Bureau of Prisons he was released in October 2013). He settled a civil suit with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for $60 million. Hoffenberg is currently paying back all of the above investors debt.[1][2] He was the owner of the New York Post.
Steven Hoffenberg hired Epstein in 1987 as a consultant for Tower Financial Corporation, a collection agency that bought debts people owed to hospitals, banks, and phone companies.[23][24][25] For the consulting work, Epstein was paid $25,000 per month.
Financial management firm The same year Epstein began consulting for Hoffenberg in 1987, he founded his own financial management firm, J. Epstein & Co.[21] The company was formed to manage the assets of clients with more than US$1 billion in net worth.[15] The main publicly known billionaire client of Epstein was Leslie Wexner, chairman and CEO of the L Brands corporation (formerly Limited Brands).[14][29] Soon after meeting Wexner in 1986, Epstein became his financial adviser and served as his "charge d'affaires" in his business dealings. By 1995, Epstein was a director of the Wexner Foundation and Wexner Heritage Foundation. He was also the president of Wexner's Property, which developed the town of New Albany outside Columbus, Ohio where Wexner lived. Although never employed by L Brands, he corresponded frequently with the company executives. He also often attended the Victoria's Secret fashion shows, and hosted at his New York City home the fashion models, and helped aspiring models get work with the company.[30] In 1996, Epstein changed the name of his firm to the Financial Trust Company[15] and, for tax advantages,[31] based it on the island of St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands.[15]

Media activities In 2003, Epstein bid to acquire New York magazine (Founders Glasser, Jewish and Felker, Gentile).[32] Other bidders were advertising executive Donny Deutsch, (Jewish) investor Nelson Peltz (Jewish), media mogul and New York Daily News publisher Mortimer Zuckerman,(Jewish owner of former Newsweek) and film producer Harvey Weinstein. (Jewish sex offender and Hollywood biggee) They were ultimately outbid by Bruce Wasserstein, (Jewish Financier) a longtime Wall Street investment banker, who paid $55 million.[32] In 2004, Epstein and Zuckerman committed up to $25 million to finance Radar, a celebrity and pop culture magazine founded by Maer Roshan. (Iranian Jew) Epstein and Zuckerman were equal partners in the venture. Roshan, as its editor-in-chief, retained a small ownership stake.[33]
Set up for the 2008 Crash
Liquid Funding Ltd. Epstein was the president of the company Liquid Funding Ltd. between 2000 and 2007.[34][35] The company was an early pioneer in expanding the kind of debt that could be accepted on repurchase, or the repo market. The market involves a lender giving money to a borrower in exchange for securities that the borrower than agrees to buy back at an agreed upon later time and price. The innovation of Liquid Funding, and other early companies, was that instead of having stocks and bonds as the underlying securities, it had commercial mortgages and investment-grade residential mortgages bundled into complex securities as the underlying security. Liquid Funding was initially 40 percent owned by Bear Stearns. Through the help of the credit rating agencies – Standard & Poor’s, Fitch Ratings and Moody’s Investors Service – the new bundled securities were able to be created for companies so that they got a gold-plated AAA rating. The implosion of these complex securities, because of their inaccurate ratings, led to the collapse of Bear Stearns in 2008 and set in motion the Financial Crisis of 2007–2008 and the subsequent Great Recession.[34][36]

Criminal Proceedings
In March 2005, a woman contacted Florida's Palm Beach Police Department and alleged that her 14-year-old stepdaughter had been taken to Epstein's mansion by an older girl. There she was allegedly paid $300 to strip and massage Epstein.[40] She had allegedly undressed, but left the encounter wearing her underwear.[41]
The International Business Times reported that papers filed in a 2006 lawsuit alleged that Epstein installed concealed cameras in numerous places on his property to record sexual activity with underage girls by prominent people for criminal purposes, such as blackmail.[45] Epstein allegedly "lent" girls to powerful people to ingratiate himself with them and also to gain possible blackmail information.[42] In 2015, evidence came to light that one of the powerful men at Epstein's mansion may have been Prince Andrew, Duke of York. (Introduced by Ghislaine Maxwell, Jewish daughter of Robert Maxwell, Jewish Mossad Connection ) [42] A former employee told the police that Epstein would receive massages three times a day.[41] Eventually the FBI received accounts from 36 girls whose allegations of molestation by Epstein included overlapping details.[42]
Epstein's team of defense lawyers included Roy Black, who defended William Kennedy Smith, celebrity (i.e. Russell Crowe) and financial crimes specialist,[47] Gerald Lefcourt, Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz,( Jewish defender of rapists is now accused of rape ) and in 2007, the Special Prosecutor of Bill Clinton, Ken Starr.[40][48] ( the Unbelievable Bill Clinton, still at large and distancing himself from Epstein) Bill Never Saw a Thing.
The state prosecutor convened a Palm Beach County grand jury. Palm Beach Police Chief Michael Reiter then accused the state attorney of being too lenient and was instrumental in transferring the case to the FBI.[40] The grand jury returned a single charge of felony solicitation of prostitution,[49] to which Epstein pleaded not guilty in August 2006.[50]
Honor Among Thieves (Non-prosecution agreement (NPA) (2007–08)
The FBI investigation resulted in a 53-page federal grand jury indictment. Alexander Acosta, then the United States Attorney for the Southern District of Florida, agreed to a plea deal to grant immunity from all federal criminal charges to Epstein, along with four named co-conspirators and any unnamed "potential co-conspirators". According to the Miami Herald, the non-prosecution agreement "essentially shut down an ongoing FBI probe into whether there were more victims and other powerful people who took part in Epstein's sex crimes." At the time, this halted the investigation and sealed the indictment. The Miami Herald states: "Acosta agreed, despite a federal law to the contrary, that the deal would be kept from the victims."[3]
Epstein agreed to plead guilty to state prostitution charges, register as a sex offender, and pay restitution to three dozen victims identified by the FBI.[3] The Guardian, a British newspaper, reported, "Despite this, the US government eventually agreed to allow Epstein to plead guilty to just one count of soliciting prostitution from an underage girl under Florida state law. ... Epstein agreed not to contest civil claims brought by the 40 women identified by the FBI, but escaped a prosecution that could have seen him jailed for the rest of his life."[42

Conviction and sentencing (2008–11)
In June 2008, after Epstein pleaded guilty to a state charge (one of two) of procuring for prostitution a girl below age 18 ,[53] he was sentenced to 18 months in prison. Instead of being sent to state prison as are the majority of sex offenders convicted in Florida, Epstein was housed in a private wing of the Palm Beach County Jail. He was able to hire his own security detail and was allowed "work release" to his downtown office for up to 12 hours a day six days a week.[54] Despite a rule forbidding work release for sex offenders, he was given such privileges by the Palm Beach Sheriff on the pretext that he had not yet registered as a sex offender.
Reactions The immunity agreement and his lenient treatment were the subject of ongoing controversy. The Palm Beach police chief accused the state of giving him preferential treatment,[40] and the Miami Herald said "U.S. Attorney Acosta gave Epstein the deal of a lifetime".[3]
Damage Control for the Royal Nitwit
An additional long-running lawsuit is pending in federal court, aimed at vacating the federal plea agreement on the grounds that it violated victims' rights.[61] On April 7, 2015, Judge Kenneth Marra ruled that the allegations made by alleged victim Virginia Roberts against Prince Andrew had no bearing on the lawsuit by alleged victims seeking to reopen Epstein's non-prosecution plea agreement with the federal government; the judge ordered that allegation to be struck from the record.[
Dershowwitz Excluded from Prosecution
The allegations against Dershowitz were stricken by the judge and eliminated from the case because he said they were outside the intent of the suit to re-open the plea agreement.[62][70] A document filed in court alleges that Epstein ran a "sexual abuse ring", and lent underage girls to "prominent American politicians, powerful business executives, foreign presidents, a well-known prime minister, and other world leaders".[71]

A federal lawsuit filed in California in April 2016 against Epstein and Donald Trump by a California woman alleged that the men sexually assaulted her at a series of parties at Epstein's Manhattan residence in 1994, when she was 13 years old. The suit was dismissed by a federal judge in May 2016 because it did not raise valid claims under federal law. ???
Personal life Previous long term girlfriends associated with Epstein include publishing heir Ghislaine Maxwell who he met in 1992.[103][104][105] Maxwell was implicated by several of Epstein's accusers as procuring or recruiting underage girls in addition to once being Epstein's girlfriend.[106][104][105]
Epstein was a longtime acquaintance of Prince Andrew (Reason court went easy on Jeffrey) and Tom Barrack,[107] and has attended parties with many prominent people, including Bill Clinton, George Stephanopoulos (wife’s gossip), Donald Trump,[108] Katie Couric, and Woody Allen.(Nice Jewish boy who Screwed both his daughters)[109] His contacts also included Israeli prime minister Ehud Barak and British prime minister Tony Blair (What is the truth about Tony?).[110][111] Both Bill Clinton[112] and Donald Trump[113] claimed that they never visited Epstein's island. Epstein owned a private Boeing 727 jet, nicknamed "Lolita Express" by the press, and traveled in it frequently, logging "600 flying hours a year (...) usually with guests on board."[114][115][116] In September 2002, Epstein flew Clinton, Kevin Spacey, and Chris Tucker to Africa in his private jet.[117][118][15][115] Flight records show Clinton flew on Epstein's plane 26 times to at least a dozen international locations.[119][120] Flight logs did not list any secret service detail for several trips.[119] A Clinton spokesperson later stated Clinton took four trips on Epstein's airplane, making stops on three continents, all with his staff and Secret Service detail.[121]

President Trump states "I knew him like everybody in Palm Beach knew him". July 2019 Video from White House
In a profile of Epstein in New York magazine in 2002, former Democratic Senate leader George J. Mitchell said of Epstein, "I would certainly call him a friend and a supporter." In the same article, Donald Trump remarked, "I've known Jeff for fifteen years. Terrific guy. He's a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side. No doubt about it – Jeffrey enjoys his social life."[122]
But then In July 2019, Trump said "I knew him like everybody in Palm Beach knew him," stating four times he had not been "a fan" of Epstein and that he had not spoken to him in about fifteen years. Video surfaced that month showing the two men partying together at Mar-a-Lago in 1992.[123][124][125][126] By 2007,[127] Epstein was reported to have been banned from Trump's club.[128][129][130] The ban allegation was included in court documents filed by attorney Bradley Edwards[131], although Edwards later said it was a rumor he tried but failed to confirm.[132][133]
Bill Clinton lauded Epstein as "a committed philanthropist" with "insights and generosity." At the time Epstein was on the board of Rockefeller University, a member of the Trilateral Commission and the Council on Foreign Relations, and was a major donor to Harvard
